MacBook Pro View

Graphics performance and battery life

There are no two ways about this: The new MacBook Pro is the fastest notebook we've tested, hands down. We were sent stocks of $ 2.199 for 15-inch MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz quad-core Core i7 2720QM, 4GB of memory and AMD Radeon HD 6750M dedicated graphics card with 1GB of GDDR5 memory, the numbers began to overcome one of the Mac we never had in the labs. In fact, the raw CPU score is so high, you will need to step to the Mac Pro and Xeon processors to get something faster, as far as I know.

Let's talk about these graphic scores for a while. While the GeForce 6750M admirable when activated, it also seems to run a little hotter - Yes, we have between 80 and 130fps running Half-Life 2: Episode 2 in native resolution, but the fan is activated as soon as has started the game and was raised as long as it is considerably hotter around the hinge. It is obviously a clever GPU, but it's good that the system automatically switches to the HD 3000 integrated graphics from Intel, which is not necessary - there is a severe reduction of heat and energy.
